Yellow Muscat 2024 – Vinárstvo Berta, Strekov, Slovakia

An irresistibly aromatic sweet wine from Vinárstvo Berta, made from Yellow Muscat grown on the sunny, loess- and limestone-rich slopes around Jasová in southern Slovakia. This is a beautifully expressive example of the variety, combining generous fragrance and ripe fruit with the freshness that gives it balance and poise.

Pale gold in colour, the wine opens with lifted aromas of wild meadow flowers, lime blossom honey and ripe tropical fruit. Notes of Muscat grape, peach, pineapple and a delicate citrus lift follow, creating an inviting and intensely perfumed bouquet.

The palate is luscious yet refreshingly vibrant. Gentle sweetness is balanced by juicy acidity, bringing layers of honeycomb, ripe stone fruit and fresh grape flavour into a long, harmonious finish. Full and rounded without becoming heavy, it is a wine that is both immediately enjoyable and capable of developing further complexity in bottle.

Serve well chilled at 8–10°C as an elegant aperitif, alongside fruit tarts and light desserts, or with soft and blue cheeses.
