Welschriesling Zobor SUNSET 2024, Tajna, Slovakia
Some wines speak clearly of where they come from. This is one of them.
Produced from hand-harvested Welschriesling (Rizling Vlašský) grown on the sunlit slopes below Zobor Hill in Slovakia's Nitra wine region, this wine is a pure reflection of its unique terroir. After gentle pressing, the must was fermented with selected yeasts before spending six months ageing on fine lees in stainless steel, followed by a further year of bottle maturation to enhance its elegance and complexity.
Pale straw-yellow with delicate green reflections, the nose is lifted by aromas of green apple, lime and fragrant linden blossom, underpinned by a striking mineral character reminiscent of wet stone. The palate is vibrant and precise, with crisp citrus flavours, juicy yellow greengage and refreshing acidity leading to a long, mineral finish. A subtle saline note lingers on the palate, echoing the limestone and stony soils that define this remarkable vineyard.
Elegant, fresh and unmistakably expressive, this is a wine that demonstrates why Slovakia is becoming one of Europe's most exciting destinations for cool-climate white wines.
Why We Found It

The vineyards beneath Zobor Hill produce wines with exceptional purity and mineral character. This Welschriesling is fresh, authentic and beautifully balanced—a wine that allows the vineyard to take centre stage. It's exactly the kind of hidden gem Kraft Wines loves to uncover.
