Gravettien Rosé 2024 — Vinařství NEPRAŠ & Co. Organic Dry Rosé, South Moravia, Czech Republic
Gravettien is NEPRAŠ's most ambitious rosé. Pale salmon in the glass, this rosé from the sun-drenched slopes of South Moravia is as precise as it is pretty. Named after the Gravettian archaeological culture that once flourished in this ancient corner of Moravia, Gravettien carries a quiet sense of place, wine grown from land that has been lived in for millennia. This is a rosé with genuine weight and presence, built from a serious red grape trio: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zweigeltrebe, sourced from the Sahara vineyard in Pavlov, one of South Moravia's warmest and most expressive sites.
The winemaking is deliberately unhurried. Aged in large oak barrels on extended lees, Gravettien Rosé delivers what the winery themselves describe as "surprisingly full, structured and complex" — a description that understates it. Where most rosés aim for freshness and immediacy, this one rewards patience in the glass: fruit depth, a textural mid-palate, and the kind of vinous structure usually reserved for light reds.
Certified organic, dry, and produced with minimal intervention, Gravettien Rosé 2024 is a wine for the table rather than the terrace — outstanding alongside charcuterie, grilled fish, or dishes with a little richness. A rare example of Central European rosé made without compromise.
