Dunaj Heritage is the flagship red from Vinárstvo Berta: a powerful, polished expression of one of Slovakia’s most distinctive grape varieties. Sourced from the warm southern slopes of Strekov, this is a wine of depth and concentration, shaped by the region’s distinctive microclimate and the estate’s meticulous approach in the cellar.

Deep ruby in colour, it opens with generous aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, plum compote and chocolate-covered sour cherry. Layers of smoky oak, graphite, sweet spice and a subtle ember-like savoury note add further complexity.

The palate is rich, full-bodied and beautifully structured, with dark fruit intensity balanced by freshness and velvety tannins. Maturation in predominantly new barrique barrels gives the wine its refined oak character, while a small stainless-steel component preserves brightness and juicy fruit definition. The finish is long, smooth and warming, with lingering notes of dark berries, spice and fine mineral detail.
